On June 11, 2026, members of the research community gathered at Salve Regina University for a Rhode Island Research Administration Collaborative (RIRAC) workshop as part of the Research Learning Community Series. The session, titled “From Proposal to Closeout: Aligning Pre- and Post-Award Teams for a Shared Vision in Supporting Research Administration Services,” featured guest speaker Kris Monahan, Chief Research Administration Officer in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Office of Research Administration (FORA) at Harvard University.
This interactive session explored how pre-award and post-award teams could move beyond silos to create a unified, end-to-end approach to research administration. Participants examined common gaps in communication, priorities, and approaches, and learned practical strategies to build mutual understanding and shared accountability. Through guided discussion, the session highlighted actionable steps to align goals, streamline service delivery, and enhance the researcher experience.
