Roger Williams University has expanded its Blue Fellows Program for a second year, increasing participation from seven to ten student fellows and adding new research partnerships focused on ocean innovation and the blue economy. The program, led by RWU’s Center for Economic and Environmental Development (CEED), provides undergraduate students with hands-on experience in marine science, biotechnology, sustainable aquaculture, and entrepreneurship. Supported by philanthropist Elizabeth Moore and integrated with RWU’s Blue Solutions Institute, the initiative helps students develop practical research skills while exploring how scientific discoveries can be translated into real-world solutions and economic opportunities.
This year’s program broadens opportunities for students to work alongside faculty researchers and industry partners on projects that address pressing ocean and coastal challenges, preparing the next generation of leaders for careers in the growing blue economy.
